Further to the announcement in June 1992 of the closing of the ‘’Ateliers de Construction Mécaniques de Vevey’’ (ACMV) Mr. André Pugin, by then Head of the ACMV Vevey Site, decided to take up the challenge of creating his own company and further pursue space and nuclear activities in Vevey (CH).
APCO Technologies SA was formally created in November 1992 and its first employee signed his employment contract in February 1993. The first orders did not take very long to come and APCO Technologies SA was launched! Building on its success in both the space and the nuclear fields of activity, the growth of APCO Technologies SA has been constant, reaching a force of 50 employees in June 1995.
In January 1997 APCO Technologies SA created the Kourou Agency and extended its activities from old Europe to the other side of the Atlantic Ocean in French Guyana at the European Space Centre.
As the nuclear activities are mainly in France, in January 1998 APCO Technologies SA created its Agency in Chalon-sur-Saône (F) in the French Bourgogne to be in a better position to service the French nuclear power plants located in the south-eastern part of France.
The year 2004 saw the creation by APCO Technologies SA of its Pierrelatte (F) agency through the purchase of one of its competitors in the nuclear field. Thanks to this purchase APCO Technologies SA strengthened its position in the nuclear sector and today provides services all over France and Belgium in Nuclear Power Plants.
This last acquisition brings today the total number of APCO Technologies SA employees to 150, dispatched about equally in our four agencies.
